How to share a screen recording with ChatGPT, Claude or an AI agent
Most AI assistants can't play a video from a link, so give them the words. Every Sonvo recording reads as text: the timed transcript, the summary, the chapters and the comments, ready to paste or fetch.
Three ways to give a video to your AI
1. Copy for AI
On the video's page, open the share menu and choose Copy for AI. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or any assistant and ask your question.
2. Add /agent.md to the link
Any Sonvo link becomes Markdown when you add /agent.md, like https://www.sonvo.co/v/<id>/agent.md. Give that link to an assistant or agent that can read web pages.
3. The sonvo command
For private and workspace-only videos, and for agents in a terminal, sonvo get <link> --md prints the same Markdown, and --json prints it structured. CLI reference.
What the AI gets
- The title, length and a short summary.
- Chapters with their times.
- The full transcript with timestamps, so answers can point to the moment.
- Comments, and the text of any files attached to the video.
Let agents send you videos too
Agents can share their results with you the same way you share with them: sonvo share report.html --title "Checkout QA" sends a report as a link, sonvo upload sends a video, and sonvo record start records the screen when you ask. For AI agents.
Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT watch a video from a link?
Generally no: assistants read text and images, not video from a link. Share a Sonvo recording with Copy for AI or its /agent.md link instead, and the assistant reads what was said, the summary, the chapters and the comments.
Does the AI see what was on screen?
It reads what was said and written: the transcript, summary, chapters, comments and attached files. Narrate what you are showing, or attach the file you are talking about, and the assistant has the full picture.
Is it private?
The /agent.md link works for anyone who has the video's link, like the video itself. Private and workspace-only videos stay private: read them with the sonvo command, signed in as someone who can see them.
How fast is the transcript ready?
About a minute after the recording ends, with a title, a summary and chapters for longer videos.
