Transcripts and AI

Within about a minute of a recording ending, Sonvo transcribes it and writes a title, a short summary and, for longer videos, chapters.

Transcript and captions

• The Transcript tab beside the video follows along as it plays. Click any line to jump there.
• Search it, or copy all of it with the copy button.
• Turn captions on with the CC button in the player.

Uploaded videos and voice-overs are transcribed the same way.

Fix the transcript

On a video you own, open the Transcript tab and click the edit button.

• Click a word and type the right one. Press Enter to keep it, Tab to move on to the next word, or Esc to leave it as it was.
• Select a few words to retype them together, for a name heard as two words or a phrase that came out wrong. Leave it empty to remove them.
• Replace all fixes the same mistake everywhere at once, like a product or person's name the transcript keeps getting wrong.

Changed words are highlighted until you click Save. Only the words change, not their timing, so the captions, Copy for AI and the Markdown for agents all show your fixes.

Title, summary and chapters

• The title is a few words about what the video covers.
• The summary is two or three sentences, shown under the video.
• Chapters are added for videos longer than about two minutes. They show on the timeline and in the summary, and each one jumps to its moment.

Videos without any speech keep their title and get no summary.

Keeping your own title

The AI only replaces a default title. Your own title stays when:

• you rename the video (click the title on its page, or use Rename in the library);
• you start a recording with sonvo record start --title "...";
• you upload with sonvo upload video.mp4 --title "...".

An upload without --title starts with the file's name, which the AI title then replaces.
